But He answered and said, "My grace is always more than enough for you, and my power finds its full expression through your weakness." So I will celebrate my weaknesses, for when I'm weak I sense more deeply the mighty power of Christ living in me. So I'm not defeated by my weakness, but delighted! ... I am made yet stronger. For my weakness becomes a portal to God's power. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10, TPT
Wow. Did you catch that? If we allow it, our weakness can be beautified with God’s grace and becomes a portal of his power. Just let that soak in for a second.
That’s right, whatever you’re facing at this very moment that’s causing anguish or fear. Whatever is zapping the strength right out of your spirit, mind, or body. That weakness is not seen by God as a stalemate! He doesn’t see it as a situation that’s impossible! He sees your weakness as an opportunity to embellish you with his grace. To demonstrate exactly who he is and wants to be through you. He wants to dress you up so he can show you off as his beautiful, living testimony!
As the song goes, no doubt he is a way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper, and a light in the darkness for us all. But a lot of times we need to recognize the weakness in order for it to be dealt with. We need to not be afraid of it. Voice what it is, and not let it defeat us any longer. This is not a name it and claim it, just simply telling Jesus our specific need. And much like a faucet being turned on, when we voice our weakness, the flow of power begins.
So what do you need right now? A healer, protector, provider, supplier? How about a deal breaker, truth defender, creator, peace giver, joy increaser, love saturater, faith strengthener?
Say this with me, now ~ I recognize my weakness. I voice this need that is zapping my strength. I voice it to you right now, Jesus. I am not afraid of it and this weakness will not defeat me because you are in me to make me stronger in every way. I celebrate where I am because it gives you an opportunity to show who you are through me. Adorn me now with your amazing grace, Jesus. Flow through me now with your mighty resurrection power. I give you permission to use my weakness as a portal for your glory. Let all my life tell of who you are, Jesus. I want to be your beautiful, living testimony. Yes, and amen.
