It's Friyay!!!! Last night I did a bunch of online Christmas shopping. I love buying things I know my family has asked for or wants. Perhaps this is why I had this unusual non-picture dream. This morning, I heard in my sleep a voice telling me to “reach into the bag of hope.” It actually woke me up from my sleep. I was still thinking about those six words. “Reach into the bag of hope” I came downstairs, lingering on the phrase and the picture that was beginning to form in my mind with this statement from heaven- “Reach into the bag of hope.”
I made my coffee (that always helps) and sat down on my favorite corner of the couch, and began contemplating the marvelous words Heaven was saying to me. Reach into the bag of hope. Hope is proof of things we prayed for in faith, but it is also a byproduct of persevering through suffering! Yesterday, the Lord woke me with the word perseverance, and today, he was given the connection to what it means to bear bravely and endure.
Check out this scripture; “… but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” Romans 5:3-5 NIV
What is hope?
Hope is a gift with a gift. Jeremiah 29:11
Hope brings strength and energy. Isaiah 40:31
Above all-Hope is tangible proof of the things we prayed and now have. Romans 8:24
One does not need hope when they hold what they have been hoping for; that’s the time for celebration, like the father hoping for the prodigal to come home. Once he came home, hope was fulfilled, and now it was time to party.
Sis, imagine sitting on the lap of your Savior; He has a giant bag of gifts, but not just any presents; they are things you have hoped and prayed for in faith. Sowed in tears. Sleepless nights of petitions. Driving and declaring car rides. Giant faith prayers made in expectations!!
Can you see yourself reaching into that bag of hope? Can you see what’s written on the box you pull out? This is what Christmas is all about!! A thrill of HOPE! A promise fulfilled—our King, offering His most extraordinary gift of all to His people.
Today, reach into the bag of Hope- Write down what you envision pulling out of that treasure-filled sack- Hope is made during times of trials. It’s is forged in fires. Dreamt about in our darkness. Hope holds us tight in the storm, helping us persevere when we can’t see the shore. And when we take hold of what we have hoped for in our hands, we see the fruition of our faith.
Reach into the bag of hope!
