Today’s reading plan-Names of the Holy Spirit- Don’t take my word for these. Take time to look these up and read the verses before and after each of these described names. It’s powerful and will bring revelation of just who He is.

Spirit of understanding- Isaiah 11:2
Spirit of wisdom- Isaiah 11:2
Spirit of might.- Isaiah 11:2
Spirit of knowledge, Isaiah 11:2
Spirit of Adoption, - Romans 8:18
Spirit of Grace, - Zechariah 12:10
Spirit of life - Romans 8:2
Helper- John 14:16
There are more names, but these are the ones that seem to be distinct in Nature. The names of the Holy Spirit are not His fruits. They are not a mood. They are the essence of who He is in the moment we need Him. Holy Spirit can come to us in our hour of need, in the truth of who He is. For example; My name is Holly. Specific roles in my life require me to be a mother, daughter, or sister. My nature or character is kind, joyful, sometimes corny, a bit sassy…you get it. I cant Un-Be a daughter, sister, or mother.
When we walk in the fruits of the spirit, we take on His nature. These are traits/fruits that represent we have been in His presence, and we have allowed Him to deposit the seeds of His hearts in our life. “But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, [inner] peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], kindness, goodness, faithfulness,”
Galatians 5:22 AMP
But then there are those moments when we feel the presence of the Holy Spirit, and He comes to us as a comforter, counselor, wisdom, grace, or truth- When we can call on His very nature of Adoption to break the curse of rejection. - When we call on His Name, Comforter, to contend with our mourning and heartache. -When we declare we have an Advocate, our Defender, our Covering, to quench the enemy’s accusation and remove the false shame. What He does is WHO HE IS. His name is His action. His name is His Nature. His name is Wisdom. His Name is Life. His name is Truth.
We also see the Holy Spirit carry a nature similar to a mother. Please don’t freak out on me. Our Father is referred to as a Hen gathering her chicks. Matthew 23:27 This is the protective nature of God, The helper, and the comforter that we women often operate in.
Sweet sisters, how do you need the Holy Spirit to come to you today? What nature of His are you leaning into right now? He will always meet you where you are. Are you grieving? Call upon the Comforter. Our hurting from betrayals? Call on your Defender and Friend. Are you aching with a rejection? Speak to your Adopter. Are you feeling lost? Call out to Wisdom and your Helper. Are you struggling with anxiety? He is your very Breath of Life….He is you Warrior, your Shelter, your Advocate, and oh how He longs to gather and cover you with His feathers.
